DISPOSITIVOS ELECTRÓNICOS PARA PAGAR PEAJES EN PORTUGAL - NOVEDADES

El nuevo sistema de pago en los peajes de Portugal está ocasionando graves problemas a los usuarios extranjeros.

Para muestra un botón: Esta Semana Santa aquellos usarios extranjeros que quisieron desplazarse por las autopistas portuguesas se vieron afectados por la complejidad de este nuevo sistema así como por las largas colas para poder adquirir los dispositivos electrónicos que permiten el pago de los peajes.

Tras las duras críticas recibidas y, no son para menos, el Secretario de Estado responsable de los Transportes en Portugal ha empezado a tomar cartas en el asunto estudiando la mejor manera de disponibilizar a los turistas extranjeros la forma de pagar los peajes.

Según el propio Secretario la "interoperabilidad técnica ya está asegurada y estamos ahora intentando la interoperabilidad operacional".

En lo que afecta a los turistas españoles, el govierno luso está estudiando la forma de poner a disposición de los usuarios estos dispositivos en España o bien que los dispositivos electrónicos españoles funcionen en Portugal.

Tendremos que esperar para ver cuál va a ser la solución final para poder despejar cualquier duda.

Franchising in Spain (II)

In our last post we discussed the total number of franchises in Spain, 1,079, of which about 15% (167) are foreign. With regard to the number of stores, foreign franchises take a bigger slice of the pie, with a share of 21% or 13.367 stores. By regions, Madrid, Catalonia, Andalucia and Valencia register most franchise chains and stores.

Beauty and esthetics are hot property right now, occupying the number one position in the service sector, with a total of 61 chains. Likewise, furniture franchises take the lead in the reail sector with 56 chains.

FRANCHISING IN SPAIN (I)

With the new edition of Expofranquicia (the franchise fair of Madrid) right around the corner (April 19-21) it's a good moment to take a look at how the sector performed during 2011. A total of 1,079 franchises were active last year which means that it has kept on growing despite the general economic downturn (1,053 franchises in 2010 and 1,019 in 2009). Plus 145 new franchises entered the market whilst 119 left.

Total gross sales reached € 18,990 million, slipping slightly from the figures of 2010, € 19,167 million. The numbers per sector breakdown as follows: € 4,260 million in the service sector; € 11,152 million in retail; € 3,578 million in the hospitality industry.
